Kobolds

Kobolds are the dominant race of Gaiandom, primarily because of their mastery of the Aeaeae. They are diminuitive reptilian humanoids, on average 3 feet tall, and usually inept at physical combat. However, Kolbolds often use the Aeaeae to increase their size, power, or simply create another being to do the grunt work for them. Kobolds are highly intelligent, and enjoy using inventing fantastic machines to do their work for them, and to conserve the ever-diminishing Aeaeae. They will also force “mammalian scum”, such as Humans, Halflings, or Roderins, into slavery to labor gathering raw materials. They never instruct Mammalians in the ways of craftmanship or engineering, fearful that they could use the knowledge to overthrow their rule. Kobold society is focused in the city of Holdian, which in the traditional Kobold fashion, is underground. Most other Kobold outposts, or “Bunkers” as they call them, are little more than millitary bases, with few residents. The Kobolds worship the mighty Kobold Overlords, and they build many temples, shrines, and statues, in pursuit of Aeaeae. Almost 100% of Kobolds follow the same religion, not because it is compulsory, but because it is required. Any Kobold who does not worship the Overlords, and who does not have Aeaeae, is considered Mammalian, and treated as such, with no exceptions. A few Kobolds have broken into a divergent sect, and they roam the countryside, with the belief that Kobolds and the lesser races are equal. They also play a large part in defending Halfling strongholds such as Cibalian. Kobolds are a reptilian race, and as such, must not expose themselves to extreme heat or extreme cold, and will become sluggish if it is too cold. Normal Kobolds have short lives, only 40 or so years, but a younger Kobold can give up his Aeaeae and his life to extend the life of an elder. It is through this process that the leader of the Overlords, Ackranardatdar, has survied since the beggining of time. The Kobolds have a primarily carnivourous diet, and to satisfy that need, they keep many herds of cows, pigs, and orcs.
